From the peak of Säntis, the highest mountain in the Alpstein massif of north eastern Switzerland, you can see 6 countries on a clear day: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France and Italy. But on days with just enough clouds the views are even more spectacular. On this particular day a bank of clouds was firmly wedged on the side of the mountain, threatening but never succeeding in crossing the imaginary line above the cliff face.
